Hemerocallis 'Bela Lugosi'

Common Name: Daylily

  • Widely regarded as one of the best purple daylilies on the market
  • 6", saturated true purple flowers with a lime green throat
  • Very sunfast for such a dark color
  • A strong grower, well-branched, and heavily budded

Daylilies can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone).

Characteristics (Compared to Other Daylilies)
  • Midseason Bloomers, blooming in July.
  • Semi-Evergreen foliage.
  • Tetraploid with 44 chromosomes, twice as many as Diploids. Tetraploids tend to be bigger, stronger plants.
