Hosta 'Lakeside Shore Master'

Common Name: Hosta

    • Vigorous member of the Lakeside series that commands attention in the garden

    • Blue-green leaves emerge in spring, then develop rich yellow centers

    • The broadly ovate leaves sport rich blue green margins with some jetting towards the midrib

    • Leaves are of heavy substance and display some seersuckering at maturity

    • Quickly forms a medium-sized mound

    • Pale lavender, funnel-shaped flowers are produced on 30" scapes in midsummer

    • Dark green seed pods follow the blooms

    • Prefers light to full shade

Hostas are exceedingly popular perennials in today's gardens due to their versatility in the landscape. Their subtle colors, tall flower scapes, and broad, coarse leaves fill a niche in garden designs that few other plants can achieve. Their large leaves provide excellent coverage for dying bulb foliage. Hostas also grow well in city environments where the air may be polluted by car exhaust, etc.
