Hosta 'Ripple Effect'

Hosta 'Ripple Effect' Hosta

Common Name: Hosta

This unique new hosta is a sport of ‘June’.  Its long, narrow, wavy, gold leaves have the same great substance of its parent. Newly emerged leaves have a very narrow blue-green margin that occasionally jets towards the golden yellow center.  In summer, the foliage transitions to chartreuse with a green margin.

This plant forms a low, horizontal mound in the landscape.  In mid to late summer, pale lavender flowers are produced on light lavender to chartreuse scapes.

Hostas are exceedingly popular perennials in today's gardens due to their versatility in the landscape. Their subtle colors, tall flower scapes, and broad, coarse leaves fill a niche in garden designs that few other plants can achieve. Their large leaves provide excellent coverage for dying bulb foliage. Hostas also grow well in city environments where the air may be polluted by car exhaust, etc.
